Sharing perspectives on hearing loss and brain health with Hong Kong

22/11/2022 Together with Prof. Iracema Leroi from GBHI and Prof. Piers Dawes from The University of Queensland Prof. Lopez Valdes delivered a perspective seminar on hearing loss and brain health, highlighting the interactions between them, the progress in terms of sensory interventions for people living with dementia and the potential of hearing aid technology towards brain health. The event was organized by Otic Hearing and Speech Center and Oticon Export for hearing care professionals in Hong Kong.

Sensors for Brain Health in Argentina

02/09/2022 Professor Lopez Valdes travelled to Buenos Aires, Argentina, to give a series of lectures on sensors and sensor platforms for brain health applications as part of the Salud Cerebral Global course. The course was a initiative from the BrainLat Institute with support from GBHI and with funding from the Interamerican Development Bank. He also participated in a panel discussion at the Behavioral and Brain Sciences: A Call to Action series while visiting the Universidad of San Andres.

This was a great opportunity to interact with brain health professionals and disseminate the message of Applied Neural Engineering for Brain Health!

14/07/2022 We hosted the supervisory team from Radboud UMC and Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour to officially kick-off the secondment project of Ignacio as part of his PhD with MOSAICS. We are delighted to be part of this collaboration!

Busy June for Sara Carta!

30/06/2022 It has been a busy month for Sara! She attended CHSCOM 2022 to present a poster on her work related to hierarchical speech processing in hearing aid users in Linkoping, Sweden. After that, she visited Eriksholm Research Centre in Snekkersten, Denmark, for the first time, to give a talk about her PhD project. Finally, she presented online at the Eriksholm Symposium to an audience across the Demant group. Great to see her come back with more ideas to test forward and inspired by her trip! Welcome Back Sara!
